| LAN (local area or home network) and WAN (wide area network) are two different things. You LAN would work at best about 100mbps and your internet speeds are based on your connections caps, much lower. 1 - 2% of 100Mbps is around 1024kbps to 2048kbps, which is typical speeds of broadband connections.
