| WARNING: If you are just browsing through the posts in this forum, hopefully to find a fix for your specific problem and think you found it, DO NOT FOLLOW THOSE INSTRUCTIONS. Those instructions have been posted by a member of the forum staff to fix that particular members problems, NOT YOURS. Not reading, or ignoring this warning could lead to serious problems within your operating system.
If you're having problems please follow ALL the instructions below. IF YOU'RE NOT POSTING A LOG FOR EVALUATION THEN PLEASE DO NOT POST IN THIS FORUM. This forum is for those of you who wish to post your HijackThis Logs for evaluation. We are very happy to help you rid your pc from spyware/malware and viruses but you MUST follow these instructions, if these instructions are not followed then your log may be ignored.

Before posting, please read and follow these instructions:
1) Please mention in your post that you have already read this announcement and followed the directions, otherwise your post and log may be ignored.
2) Setup and scan with Ad-Aware 2008:

4) Download and run CWShredder 2.19.
5) Install and run CCleaner, it's an excellent FREE tool to clean out temporary, and junk files.
6) Download and run McAfee Avert Stinger:

7) It is a good idea to run the WinSock XP Fix, this will reset your Winsock driver which some malware corrupts (if you run this you will have to redo any internet connection tweaks you may have previously set).
8) Once you have properly cleaned your pc please install SpywareBlaster 4.1 to help prevent future infections.
9) Install ALL of the latest Windows Updates.
10)Download\install 'SuperAntiSpyware Free Version Home Users' from here:

Launch SuperAntiSpyware and click on 'Check for updates'.
Once the updates have been installed,on the main screen click on 'Scan your computer'.
Check: 'Perform Complete Scan'.
Click 'Next' to start the scan.
Superantispyware will now scan your computer,when it's finished it will list all/any infections found.
Make sure everything found has a checkmark next to it,then press 'Next'.
Click on 'Finish' when you've done.
It's possible that the program will ask you to reboot in order to delete some files.
Obtain the SuperAntiSpyware log as follows:
Click on 'Preferences'.
Click on the 'Statistics/Logs' tab.
Under 'Scanner Logs' double click on 'SuperAntiSpyware Scan Log'.
It will then open in your default text editor,such as Notepad.
Copy and paste the contents of that report into the Hijackthis Logs Forum if you do post a Hijackthis log.
Once you have done ALL of the above 10 items, and if you're still having problems, you should post a Hijack This Log.
Download Trend Micro HijackThis 2.0.2 to your desktop:
Double click on HJTInstall.exe,it will prompt you to extract hijackthis.exe to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
When the install is complete,HijackThis will automatically launch.
When the license agreement appears,select "I Accept" and then click on the "Do a system scan only" button.
When the scan is complete,click on the "Save Log" button,then save it to your desktop.
Copy and paste the entire content of that log into the Hijack This Logs forum.
The following three items are highly recommended to help your computer stay clean:
• If you are not using a firewall already then install one immediately, even if it's only turning on XP's built in firewall, just remember that XP's firewall has no outbound protection. If you want an excellent FREE software firewall we recommend Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5, it offers excellent protection and uses next to no resources and won't slow your internet connection down.

• If you are not using an antivirus program and do not have the money to purchase one, we recommend you install and setup one of the following:
1) Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus
2) Avast 4 Home Edition FREE
3) AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 8.0
• If you are looking to purchase an antivirus program we recommend you try Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 (Setup tutorial here).They also offer a FREE 30 day full working trial, Kaspersky is unsurpassed with it's malware detection rate.
• Do not post your log file in a thread started by someone else, even if you are having the same problem as the original poster. It is confusing and it is irritating,we will have to delete such posts.
• Please give a brief explanation of the problems you are having. Also give your post a relevant Subject Title. Do not call the thread "Hijack This Log" or something similar to that. Obviously we already know it's a log.
• Please do not post logs every few weeks (3 or 4 a year is about the limit we can accept). We have too many members and too few staff who are qualified to evaluate logs to allow frequent postings. Remember, when all is said and done you must take responsibility for your own system. We're here to help when needed and are happy to do so - please don't take advantage of this service we offer.
• Members will be limited in the number of logs they can post.
