| Here's a question I hope one of you gaming or video experts can answer for me. I have an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro, which I was under the assumption was NOT DirectX 9 compatible (only Directx 8.1). So why, when I go to ATI's website to download the latest Cats (3.6 - which they say are compatible with the 9000), does it tell me to install DirectX 9 first? Is there something I'm missing here? Will the newer Cat drivers work with DirectX 8.1?
Here's the link to the page that tells you to install DX9 first:

| It's not the card that's not DX9 compatible, it's the driver version.

| OK, sorry. I just now read that thread. Thanks, Cassi. I was under the assumption that it was the hardware that was not DX9 compliant, not the software.
Man, who knew gaming could be so complicated???
BTW - Allan, since this has already been covered in another thread, feel free to delete this one if you want.

| Hi Vector i don't have time to read that article now. I do know that Nvidia cards it's the driver version it is possible that ATI are different. In any case I would suggest checking out Guru3D, there is more information there on video cards than you need to know.

| Trust him here also. I have bought the last couple of things on my computer(software) because of him. Very happy I might add.
