| ok i use xp pro and i started out with just one windows user name which is mine. then i had to make another user name for other people in my family. so i made 1 more windows user name, a limited account, but they have access to all my files under my user name and i dont know whats going on but i cant disable the sharing of my files with the other user name. can someone help me here please??

| Share permissions do not regulate access from the local computer only over a network. To control local access, you need to have an NTFS drive, disable simple file sharing, then use NTFS security permissions to contol access.

| um, so since my drive is FAT32 i cant disable local file sharing?

| On a FAT32 drive, the only way to control access to files and folders when someone is sitting at your PC is to use third party software. Suggest nosing around downloads.com.
