What has changed since the time the pc ran normally, have you installed/uninstalled any hardware or software [including driver and Windows Updates].

Click on Start>Control Panel>System>Advanced tab>Startup and Recovery,'Settings' button.
Uncheck 'Automatically Restart',then OK your way out.
The next time it tries to randomly restart,it will display an error message on a blue screen instead.
Take note of that onscreen error message and let us know the exact wording.

Try doing a Selective Startup,it may narrow it down as to what may be causing the problem.
Click on Start>Run,type msconfig then press OK
In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click the General tab, and then click Selective Startup.
Click to clear the Process SYSTEM.INI File check box.
Click to clear the Process WIN.INI File check box.
Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
Click the Services tab.
Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
Click Disable All, and then click OK.
When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer.
Starting with the first available check box: 'Process SYSTEM.INI File'.
Select each check box one at a time, and restart the computer as prompted until the problem is reproduced.
Doing this you should be able to find out whats causing your issue.

Certainly sounds like it,try uninstalling/reinstalling it.
Check for a driver update on the card manufacturers website.
If still no joy, turn off your pc,disconnect it from the mains power supply.
Open up the case, make sure the video card is secure/seated correctly, pull it out and back in again.
Make sure all cable connections are secure inside the case.
Check the leads to and from your monitor.
If still no joy,get yourself a new video card.
