| | I have auto updating turned off, I prefer to manage updates manually. Is there a way to tell Windows Security Center to ignore this, so it does not display the red X in the system tray? Thanks |

| Control Panel/Security Center,on the left click "Change the way Security Center alerts me" ,then in the opening box select "Don't notify me and don't display the icon (not recommended)".

| | Thanks Richie. I guess I should have been more specific. I want to receive alerts on the other issues that Security Centers monitors, but I want it to ignore that I have turned off Windows Updates. |
