Could you post the entire error message from the BSOD.

Also click on Start/Run,type eventvwr then press OK
Check in the 'System' log for error's,see if there are any clues there as to what may be causing the issue.

Go to the link below, scroll down to 0x0000007E
http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm

If you have the Microsoft Windows XP installation disk.
Click Start>Run,type sfc /scannow then press Ok.
Leave a space in between sfc and /scannow
Reboot when you've done.

With the MS Windows XP installation in the cd-rom drive, boot to the Recovery Console.
Configure your computer to start from the CD-ROM drive if necessary.
[Boot into the Bios and set your CD-Rom drive as first boot device].
For more information about how to do this, refer to your computer's documentation or contact your computer manufacturer.
At the prompt type chkdsk /r then press Enter.
Leave a space in between chkdsk and /r
This process could take up to an hour or more, allow it to run until its finished.

Please note that if your Setup CD doesn't have the Service Packs integrated (slipstreamed), then you will be returning your OS to the pre-Service Pack state if you run commands like chkdsk /r. Most people don't get complete Setup CD's when they purchase a new computer. Mostly, people only get a Restore/Recover CD, which isn't a Setup and is useless in this situation.

WHAT?

Running chkdsk /r scans the hard drive for errors and repairs them. Period. It does not delete or alter any files.

That error code tells me very little i'm afraid.
I suggest you take a look through this Google searh for 0x0000007E,see if there's anything similar to your issue:
http://www.google.com/search?q=stop+codes+0x0000007E+xp&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_en___GB230

If you have'nt yet done so,i suggest you run through the remaining suggestions in my first post.
