Don't worry. This is a "feature" that your IT Department or boss has implemented. It's not a virus or anything nasty. In other words, someone there has a sense of humor.

I have a tweaking program called TweakNow PowerPack that's installed on my Vista laptop, and this "feature" is available. All it is, is the ability to place text on the screen before a user logs on to their account, or better known as the pre-log on text message box.

And just for fun here with my laptop, I have mine set to say "Welcome back. I missed you so much!" before the log-on screen comes up.

I am assuming you're using Windows XP for this since you did not mention Vista.

Navigate to these regedit keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
and look for the LegalNoticeCaption and LegalNoticeText on the right side, right-click them, modify, and make the value data blank.

The machine must be rebooted for the pre-logon message to disappear.
