| | Hi, Unlike most computers which display the following options during boot before the welcome screen: press del (or F4) to enter setup or bios, and press F8 to boot in safe mode, my AMD only shows press del to enter setup and press tab to display boot options. I have tried all three, even F8 though it is not listed, and i still couldn't get into safe mode. Any suggestions, please? |

Those are bios options. The trick to getting into safe mode is to hit F8 as the bios is completing POST and just before windows loads.

| Getting into Safe Mode is not an AMD issue, it is a Windows function. With most computers the P.O.S.T. will be ended when hearing a beep from within the computer. That is the time to start pressing the F8 key, may have to experiment with just holding it down or pressing several times in succession. There will be data on the screen to read and of sufficient quantity that it usually fills most of the screen.

| | Thanks a lot guys. will certainly be more observant when trying that again; and will also let you know of results at some later date. Meanwhile, i see no reason to waste any more time over this--really appreciate all you have already done! |

| If you see an option to boot from a CD you probably have a CD in the drive. Remove it.
