I have spyware on my laptop that is causing it to shut down of its own accord without any warning. This can be a couple of minutes ar 15 minutes after I turn it on. Can anyone suggest how to remove this spyware please?

Don't worry about that,i've edited your topic title Smile

Download Trend Micro HijackThis 2.0.2 to your desktop:
Double click on HJTInstall.exe,it will prompt you to extract hijackthis.exe to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
When the install is complete,HijackThis will automatically launch.
When the license agreement appears,select "I Accept" and then click on the "Do a system scan only" button.
When the scan is complete,click on the "Save Log" button,then save it to your desktop.
Copy and paste the entire contents of that log into a new topic in the HijackThis Logs forum, not here.

Hi Richie,

Thanks for your response. The only problem is that I don't know how long my computer will stay on. I have already downloaded Spybot and Adaware but they don't have enought time to run?

Try the following,see if it helps:
Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE using the F8 method.
To do this,restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly.
A menu will appear with several options.
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode with Networking".

Richie- I ogged in under safe mode as you suggested and ran the Hijack This programme. I posted the report as per your instructions.

However the laptop still shut itslef down in safe mode?
