| Ok, so I started tweaking mny computers performance with tips from the tweakxp website. I only used a few, three of which required changes to the registry.
For whatever reason, when i loaded my computer back up (i had disabled all non windows services, and startup applications) my blue theme was completely gone, my volume icon in the taskbar has disappeared, my network connection is connected but completely invisible in the form of any icon....
I've reveresed everything I'd done before I made the changes, but still nothing is back the way it was before...my sound and internet work obviously...but i cant get the icons to come back to save my life, or my old blue theme...anyways, im wondered what - short of reformatting- I can do to reverse this problem.
It should be noted that the restore point I created before I started tweaking has deleted itself too.
I should also mention I installed cachemanXp and tried using a fake serial to my disappointment...it froze the program up in the middle of optimizing my performance and now it's just a mess alltogether.
before tweaking : processes 39
memory used : 300/512
after this crap : processes 22
memory used 112/512 |

| | You disabled all non-MS services and apps and can't understand why they didn't run after startup? It sounds as though you tried to perform some tweaks without knowing what you were doing and without understanding the potential implications. And then you tried to use a "crack" with a piece of software and you're surprised that problems arose. Stop blaming the software - so far it sounds like you're the cause of all your problems. Tell us exactly what it is you did and we'll try to get you back to where you need to be. By the way, tweakxp software is not related to this site.
