| I recently refreshed my ip address because for some reason I kept disconnecting. It fixed it, but now certain electronic devices I have that use the wifi can't connect and are saying I need to refresh back to the default gateway of 192.168.2.1. Technically speaking I don't have a separate router connected to this computer, it was built into the back of the processor. Trouble is I don't remember what brand it was and I don't know how to change it back.
--I should also mention I cannot connect to http://192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1. Even with the firewall I have off.

Technically speaking I don't have a separate router connected to this computer, it was built into the back of the processor. Routers are generally not built into a computer but the NIC/Network Interface Card/Adapter is, could be on the motherboard or an Add-in PCI Card.
The numbers you gave are similar to mine on a Cable/DSL Gateway Router and are the base for my Peer-to-Peer Network. The Router is connected to my computers by CAT 5 Ethernet cables. Each computer will show a different IP accress, usually only the last number group is different on each one.
Being as I have Wireless Internet Service there is an Ethernet cable running around the outside of my house from the Router to the dish with a two-way radio in place of the LNB used by satellite TV.
The brand and model of the Router will be on the face of it and/or on the label on the bottom. Mine says Belkin F5D5231-4. Yours may be a Linksys [now part of Cisco], a D-Link, GearXS, TrendNet or any of several other brands.

| Well, that is something strange I noticed. The PCI card in the back of the processor and the modem work without the separate router I have. As in I can get internet using just the modem's connections. I've tried resetting it too, but it didn't change the gateway to the one my other devices need to function online.

I looked on the back too, but all I saw was a serial number. No company on there. :?Without a brand name and model number it's nearly impossible to set it up if you don't have the disk that came with it or cannot download the software for it.

| I feel kind of stupid... it turned out it was simply the Mcafee firewall blocking the devices.
