| Guess I'm forced to use win amp or wmp11? No way around it?

| Yep, stuck with WMP 11, also Windows Mail, Internet Explorer 7 and others. The changes in the OS prevents using things from previous versions of the OS. An example is the File Manager program winfile.exe from WinNT 4.0, works fine in Win2000 and WinXP but not at all in WinVista.

| Just curious but why do you need WMP 10? If you really need it you could always run the free MS Virtual PC on vista and install a virtual XP machine.
