| Hello when ever I go to browse through files or access control panel or anything else I get a glitch saying "Windows Explorer not responding." I don't know why this happened but I can't go on Internet Explorer ( I'm lucky I installed Firefox too) and access my control panel, I have Norton 360 and it hasn't picked up any viruses. System restore won't work either it says that there is a corrupt file. Finally I am running windows Vista home basic on a Dell Inspiron 531S with 1 GB of ram and a 180 GB of hardrive with 9.99Gb of backup any help is appreciated.

| | Did this just start or has it always been this way? If it just started, what happened just before the problem appeared (new hw, sw, crash, etc)? Have you tried a "clean boot"? Open msconfig and on the startup tab choose "selective startup" (disable everything from loading) and reboot. What happens?

| ya it just happened on Saturday, when DEP was blocking a program I wrote so I was prompted to restart when I chose to allow it and Windows Explorer didn't work. I have Vista pre-installed so I don't have a disc to clean install it and the msconfig didn't work
