| Hey guys, so I noticed that SP1 was not available for download for me through Windows Update. I went online and found 8 potential causes. ( http://vistarewired.com/2008/03/19/what-to-do-if-you-cannot-get-windows-vista-service-pack-1 ) One of the causes is a certain driver version of SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec, which I have (version 6.10.5511.0 or earlier). I found the relevant driver in Device Manager and selected Update Driver Software. It began to download the new update, however, it seemed to get stuck for quite a while during installation so I hit cancel to try again. However, now when I try to update the driver software it tells me my driver software is up-to-date although the same troublesome version number is listed. What can I do? I tried to find an update online and circumvent Windows Update but I wasn't successful. Thanks!

| You could try to uninstall the device in Device Manager. Then right click where you removed it from and scan for hardware changes. That may or may not work. Always make sure to remember to backup/make a restore point, incase you fubar the system.
