| | Please Help!!! It looks like my system is affected with virus. I am getting popups of advertisement and some sponsored links in left side of google search page. Please help, its quiet urgent. I am using Windows XP Professional version 2002, SP 2. |

Download Trend Micro HijackThis 2.0.2 to your desktop:
Double click on HJTInstall.exe,it will prompt you to extract hijackthis.exe to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
When the install is complete,HijackThis will automatically launch.
When the license agreement appears,select "I Accept" and then click on the "Do a system scan only" button.
When the scan is complete,click on the "Save Log" button,then save it to your desktop.
Copy and paste the entire contents of that log into a new topic in the HijackThis Logs forum, not here.

| | Richie, I have installed the Hijack This (in some other folder and not in Program Files), when I click save log button, its not prompting me with any dialogue box to save the file. I dont know if it is getting saved somewhere. Could you please let me know if it is saving the log to some default location. Thanks & Regards, Harsh. |

| Launch Hijackthis,click 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'.
When the scan is complete,the log should open in Notepad.
Copy and paste the entire contents of that log into a new topic in the HijackThis Logs forum.
If still no joy,using 'Search' from the Start Menu,search for Trend Micro.
Open that folder,then open the HijackThis folder,you should see a text file there named 'hijackthis',copy and paste the entire contents of that log into a new topic in the HijackThis Logs forum.
