| 1- When Windows asks me if "this computer will connect to the Internet directly, or through a network", I suppose I click on "no, this computer will connect directly to the Internet"?
Are you behind a rounter? If yes you connect through a network but if wired directly to a cable/dsl modem then it would be direct.
3- As for the Windows updates, when do we download them? Do they download and install during Windows installation or you have to do it after?
Well if you just did a xp sp2 install I would say you have about 100 more updates. There will be a couple of re-boots in there too.
Dont forget about an antivirus - make sure its fully updated too.
2- Tell me, do I have another question to answer for the Internet connection or should I click "ignore"?
Not sure with this one but I think it will ask to set up an e-mail account only - thats up to you.

| | No, I'm not behind a router. So it means that the updates have to be made after installation. I wasn't sure if Xp did them by itself in the process. Do you recommend downloading the updates before installing the antivirus? Or only after? Thanks again |
