| I wanted to install 512mb RAM on my computer. At present it just has 128mb RAM. I have both 256MB RAM and 512MB RAM. But when I remove the 128MB RAM and put 256mb RAM or 512MB RAM. My PC does not start. Why is this so? I have a 1.6ghz processor. These are my computers configurations at present:-

| Wait. This time when I installed 512mb RAM after removing 129mb RAM, my monitor wasn't working but my PC was. I also noticed that the fan of the graphics card wasn't moving. The same thing happened when I installed ONLY 256mb RAM.

| Specifically what make and model is the computer? Also who made the memory you are trying to install and what are its specifications?

| My Computers make and model is - FUJITSU SIEMENS D1325
The 256mb RAM is from Onyx company and the 512mb RAM is from some ACTCTS company. Both are SD RAM. May I know what you mean by specifications for this?

| | Don't know too much about comps, but nearly the same happened to me. I ordered ram off e-bay and when plugged in, it wouldn't fire up! Took it to repairers and they showed me the problem. Take out the old (good) ram and read what's written on it. The new ram must match this spec. The ram l ordered was the right size and l thought the right spec, but my old ram said PC2100 and l had ordered PC2700. |
