| | I have a home PC that I have been using for a few years.... working fine and running on Windows XP. I unplugged my computer after shutting it down a few weeks ago and tonight when I attempted to restart it...... I HAVE NO POWER!!! I have attempted to use different power cords which I know work fine..... so I am wondering WHAT IS UP WITH THIS????!!!!!??? Is there a "reset" button or something else I could try??? Thanks........ | No, there's no Reset button other than the one on the front of the computer and a great many of lately produced computers don't have them, saves the manufacturers a few bucks.
One method of resetting I've had work is to unplug the computer, press the On [I|O] button or wait about 30 seconds for residual power to drain off, open the case and unplug the large cable at the motherboard. Put every thing back leaving the case open temporarily and see if it will boot. If it doesn't, make note of any light on the motherboard and whether any fan is running.

| Hi Integrity
On my computer I have a rocker switch on the back that cuts off the power. I have switched that rocker off, unplugged my computer to dust, got sidetracked and forgot to switch the rocker back on before pressing the on button and nothing happened.
Last summer I noticed when the weather was really hot I would press the "on" button to my computer and it would light up for a second then shut off. I would turn that rocker to the off position then to the on position, then press the "on" button and my comp. would fire up. I figure I'll need a power supply soon.
