| I did the update yesterday on my HP notebook and it went flawlessly. It seems a little bit more snappier and more stable. So far, I am very pleased with SP1. Now if I could just get myself a nice gaming system with Vista SP1 I would be in heaven. |

| | Yeah, I've seen people complain also how terrible their systems run now after doing it also. I always think those are the same people trying to upgrade to Vista without upgrading their hardware. My machine ran pretty fast to begin with, being that it's only about 3 months old. Although, you might be right about the placebo effect, I haven't experienced one hiccup and it seems slightly faster. You could be right though. One thing that I was hoping I would see, but I didn't was some new bells and whistles. That would have been really cool. |

| File copy/move actions are a zillion times faster since SP1. Also, all my USB devices are snappier. Its not a couple secs kinda snappier. Its more like 30-45 secs difference enabling a couple devices. It took over a minute off my wait on the login screen also (fingerprint login scanner (USB ). Overall the system is a tad faster, possibly.

| It seems that Vista SP1 isn't available for my brand new laptop bought just a month ago. At least, it's not available in the Windows Update section, or by the Automatic Updates for me.
Seems that I have a video driver for the Intel graphics that is flagged as incompatible for SP1, by this knowledge base article.
Looks like I'll have to wait until a proper driver is written, to upgrade. *sigh*
