When I install WMP 10 or 11 in WinXP Pro, SP2 the application runs ok except that no sound is produced when I run a file that should play sound. The reason is that these WMP installations fail to load the audio codecs. Is there a way that I can find the appropriate audio codecs and install them independently of WMP?

Hi jvfree

Open Windows Media Player, Pick "Tools" then "Options" Then the "File types" tab. Make sure the file types you are wanting to play are checked.

I use K-Lite Mega Codec.
