| | Where do the icons from web sites that are visible in favorites get stored? I am not talking about the icons list of icons in the win/sys file. I want to change this icon... to this icon... But I don't know where to find it on my computer. |

| Icons PROVIDED BY WEB SITES are usually in the Temporary Internet Files Folder and named favicon [1].ico. They last there only as long as one does not visit another Web site with an icon on it.
You can create your own icon and using Properties of a shortcut/URL change to that icon.

| | I looked in the Temporary Internet Files folder (under Documents and Settings) and there are no files there. There is a Content.IE5 sub folder with just an index file. And why would it be IE5 if I am using IE7? Also looked in Windows\Temp\Temporary Inmternet Files. A few weird named sub folders but no files. PS: Why is it that I have the box checked under Advanced Internet Options in IE to "Empty my temporary internet files folder when browser is closed" but it never empties them? |

I have my Windows Explorer Tools, Folder Options, View tab set to show all files and filename extensions, makes it easier to see file in Folders.

IE5 as a Folder name is simply a hold-over from earlier versions of Windows and Internet Explorer, nothing to be concerned about.

Could be a hold-over from before you made the choice of "Empty my temporary internet files folder when browser is closed". Even clicking the Delete Files button doesn't clear out all of the TIFs so I open each of the first four subFolders and delete all the files in them then delete all the subFolders other than those four, haven't had a problem from that with IE yet.

| | All the files empty when I delete the files from the tools>internet options. I reinstalled IE7. Same thing, files won't empty on exit. |
