| | Alright, my friend is having issues deleting Windows Messenger because it automatically signs her on when she restarts her computer, so I told her to do Remote Assistance and oddly enough Windows Messenger isn't even in the startup list for programs that start when logging on. The real problem is that she can't delete windows messenger's folder directly even though she IS an administrator. X_x Help? |

First enable the viewing of hidden files and folders,reverse the process once you've done below:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html
Go to:
C:\WINDOWS\INF and double click on SYSOC.INF
The file will open in Notepad.
Find the line:
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7
Delete/edit out hide, from the line.
The line should then read:
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,7
Then click on 'File' at the top,then click 'Save'.
Exit Notepad.
Restart your pc.
Windows Messenger should now be visible in Add or Remove Programs.
An easier way is to do this:
Click Start/Run,copy and paste the following command into the 'Open:' space,then press OK
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Restart your pc.
