Ive just completed a clean install of Vista on my boot partition, however I have a large number of programs on a second partition, is there any easy way of updating the registry and the start menu to include all of these programs?

There really isn't an "easy" way.

Windows-based programs have to be installed from disk so as to get the mentioned Registry entries made, Start menu shortcuts created and the support files [such as .dll] copied into the proper subFolders. Many installation routines decompress the files stored on the CD or DVD during the installation to make them usable.

It MIGHT be possible to double-click an .exe file in a program's Folder to see if it will run. Usually there will be error messages about not finding a particular file so you have to made sure the file exists in the proper Folder, e.g. in C:\Windows\System32. If not there you have to obtain it and place there.
