| | I would like to prevent the welcome screen in Vista opening every time I switch on. I've tried removing the check mark, removing it from the Start programs list and even removing it in the registry, all to no avail. Is there anyone who can tell me how to remove this annoyance or do I have to live with it? |

| Sorry about the delay Christmas and all that. Anyway tried eliminating it in registry and on restart there it was again. Whatever I do it just keeps turning up like a bad penny. have you any other tweaks? If not then thanx for your efforts.

| 1.go to control panel/power options/changeplan settings/change advanced power options.
2.select "change settings that are currently unavailable"
3. under additional settings, require password on wakeup set to No and No
