How can I stop the flickering of the hourglass attached to the mouse when it's working in the background.  I was using the scheme that came with Vista (with the little circle that turns - aero I think it's called) and changed to "none" in the scheme options.  I hate that flickering when the computer is working.  In XP the hourglass remained stable, not flickering.  Can I change something to stop that?

It could be that your displays 'Hardware Acceleration' is set to below Full. To check it your going to have to get into the display properties. I believe it's Personalize --> Display Settings. From there hit the Advanced button and it should be under the troubleshoot tab.

I had changed the resolution so went back to the default setting.  It's a lot better but still some flicker.  Interestingly I cannot change the refresh rate.  It's set at 60 with a note that it cannot be changed on this machine.  Guess I'll live with it.  Thanks for your response.
