| Today when I click the snipping tool shortcut on my Desktop, it was gone (link to non existing program). I use Vista Premium.
Please help me to have it back.
I search for Snippingtool.exe and found one in
C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-tabletpc-snippingtool_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_cd7c35de0fd57264\
when I run it, nothing happens. |

| | I am also having the same problem with snipping tool. I found it and copied it into C:\Windows\System32\SnippingTool.exe, but it still doesn't work. Does it need to be installed somehow? I think it disappeared and stopped working after the last update from Microsoft. It used to appear in Accessories, but now it doesn't. Are there additional instructions after I copy the file into C:\Windows\System32\SnippingTool.exe. Thanks. |

| | I did this a while ago, lost it from accessories...what you have done is turned off cleartype or disabled something that is (What you thought) for laptops only... I cant remebr at the mopment what the box was that you uncked and I'm at work...when I get home, I will have a look on my computer for you and give you the solution... In the meantime if you remeber what you have altered and go back and change it...it will be something through control panel and it is offered as a tweak for speeding up Vista (Turn off unwanted services) but it disables the snipping tool |

| | Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you...this is what you have done...you have turned off Tablet PC Optional Components. In Control Panel choose "Uninstall a program" under Programs and then "Turn Windows features on or off". You will see Tablet PC Optional Components, turn it back on and Voila, the snipping tool is back in accessories.. Cheers |
