| Well smiley , I think that you really should have Macbook PRO because MacOSX is faster than Windows Vista (It's true I tried them even though I don't have 'em), it doesn't have many viruses, adware, trojan attacks like Windows and also the cool thing is there is CampBoot which allows you to boot to Windows XP or Vista! Those are my reasons, and many features in Vista are already included in OSX in the first place like desktop searching etc. If you still don't know which one to choose then visit Microsoft's Windows Vista page and Apple's OSX Tiger page. But tell you one thing, Leopard is not out (correct me if I am wrong) so you might want to wait for a while. Hope my reply helps.

| | It depends on what you're using it primarily for. If you want to play games, you're better off with Windows since Mac still has compatibility issues with many games. If you do a lot of video editing, Mac will be faster. Like Anwar said, you can run BootCamp on a Mac, but it won't perform as well as the real thing. Also, I think Vista has much better battery control so you're get more time between charges. |

| I was helping a person with a new MacBook [as a replacement for a Sony Notebook with WinXP] and it's quite nice. However, he has a DOS-based program and it wasn't real nice running Nova Parallels with WinXP Pro installed in it then having the F keys working as they should in the DOS-based program. His wife didn't like the Mac Ctrl + mouse button for the right-click menu and didn't want a USB mouse and cord on the desk just to get the right-click menus.
Guess the latest is he will return the MacBook to BestBuy to exchange for a pair of HP Notebooks then remove Vista and put WinXP on them. [Apparently that BestBuy doesn't refund but exchanges for equivalent value or better.]

| I have heard that Macs have some compatibility issues, but I would really only be using the internet for browsing, word processing, and most of all, editing movies. For these reasons im thinking a mac would be more suited to what ill be using it for, correct?

| Smiley , Yeah, you sure should have a Mac. You said you want typical internet browsing, video editing, and office tools right? So you should buy a Mac (I think you should buy MacBook, not MacBook PRO). Don't forget you'll need to wait until October for Leopard the new version of the OS.

| Thanks
I've seen the demo for Leopard and it looks pretty cool. The only problem is that i would rly need the MacBook for the beginning of september when school starts! So does anyone know if it would be outrageously more expensive just to buy a MacBook with Tiger (1200$ CAN) and then to upgrade to Leopard when it comes out????
And also, if i do choose to wait for Leopard before buying the MacBook, is it likely that it will actually come out in October when it says it will? Or is it likely to get postponed?
Thanks for the help!!!!!
