Hello,

I am trying to decide whether to install or not winxp +sp2 for my clients in my future company (in case all goes right).

Who's for?

Who's against?

I will count and decide later. You don't need to justify your answer
but if you wish to enlighten me more, it will be appreciated.

Thank you

I would install and see how it goes. I installed on my home pc, no problems really. I tried to install on laptop and it would'nt play so i decided that with the level of security i have, not to bother.

At the end of the day i would say it comes down to preference. If you have enough virus protection etc you may as well wait until all the problems are ironed out.

I highly recommend installing it.  Occasional problems come up but
it's usually because of windows built in firewall, which is easily
disabled.  I can't install SP2 on this computer because it's a
Hewlett Packard and doesn't seem to be showing up in automatic updates.

I thinkg you should install it...There are many great features that's been added but there are two that I really like but maybe this is just me tho...I like the new pop-up blocker that's been implemented and the firewall....although I hardly ever use IE anymore (firefox is better), I still think the pop-up did pretty well blocking adds but I know it can't block everything. The firewall is also a great feature because it will alert me everytime a program tries to connect onto the internet, whether it's window media player or NAV, and I have the option to block or unblock it....

I'm not sure why so many people have problems with sp2 but I can only think that maybe they either have too many spyware, adware, etc on their computers or that their PC have too many *extra fancy stuff in there such as hardware that may cause conflict....I'm doing fine with my PC though even tho it's an old Presario 7500 series...only 600mhz....but My friends PC is slowing down and he had went back to sp1. I do recommend it though.

I'm definately for SP2. For me, it's been an excellent upgrade, with not even a hint of problem. (At least, not a problem which could be put down to SP2).

Some people have been having alot of problems with it, however they can mostly be solved. It's been a good upgrade from MS.

I haven't installed SP2 yet.  I keep trying to install these stupid drivers from HP but they just don't want to install properly.  I am thinking of just giving it a go and see what happens...

AMD 64 4000+
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
1GB Corsair XMS DDR400 RAM
6800 GT 256MB RAM PCI-E
2 Seagate Barracuda SATA 120GB HDD's
