i have an xp os and i want to make the all programs from the start menu to go away i mean not see it. how d i do that through the regedit or the gpedit??

GO TO RUN TYPE GPEDIT.MSC

navigate to user configuration\administrative templates\startmenu$ taskbar
click on it in right pannel u will see list of functions check what u want
go to remove all pogram list or recent used pogram list what ever u want to deactivate
rt click select properties in it select enable and press apply

if u want to revert pogram list in menu go to the properties and press disable

Just so you'll know, Group Policy Editor GPEDIT is not available in WinXP HE/Home Edition and probably not in WinXP MCE/Media Center Edition.
