| Hi all, does anyone know how to change the icons in windows explorer? For example, after I open explorer, I click on "Computers" and I would like to change the icon for my external drive as well as flash media drives.
Thanks in advance!

| It requires 2 files to do it with HDDs, haven't tried with removeable drives. Both files have to reside in the root of each drive they are to be used with, e.g. C:\, F:\, etc.
One file is the autorun.inf:
[autorun]
icon=c:\HarddrvC.ico
The other file is an icon.
I obtained an icon by using an extracting program and took it from SHELL32.DLL Then I edited/recolored and saved both to the root of the HDD. The icon was applied at bootup. As noted, I used different filename as I had colored each one differently.
The properties of the icon I used are:
Width 32 pixels
Height 32 pixels
Horizontal Resolution 96 dpi
Vertical Resolution 96dpi
Bit Depth 32
Frame Count 1
Another way is shown here:
