| I have a Windows 2000 SP4 box that tries to boot up when I am prompted with login box, it tries to load my profile and I get the following error:
"Your system has no paging file, or paging file is too small."
It shows me how I should change this by clicking My Computer > Advanced > blah blah blah...
The only problem is it never lets me login to set this and contines to throw me back to the login screen over and over even in Safe Mode. I don't understand how I can by bass this error and follow the steps it shows to resolve the problem when the Desktop never loads. I get the continuous loop of "Press Control + Alt + Delete To begin".
Please help!

| You may want to boot the win 2k cd and go to the recovery console and run chkdsk /r and see if that helps. If not you may need to do a repair install on the existing installation which would be the second repair option.

| So both the recover console and repair install require me to boot from the Windows 2000 CD, correct?

| Yes - the chkdsk /r scans and tries to repair disk errors but the repair install installs the OS over itself hopefully replacing the bad files. I personally would run the chkdsk first.
