| | i have this server that has server 2003 standard edtion and at startup it has this service control manager error that says "at least one service or driver failed during system startup. use the event viewer to examine the event log for details." what can cause this problem to come up at EVERY startup. This is for a pos environment and is causing the registers not to connect to the server. Any quick solutions are appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks for your help! |

| What does the event viewer say? What does it take to get the registers to connect to the server after that?

| From what I have been told is nothing to what we could find important. And when this is fixed then the registers should be able to communicate and we can restore the connection by doing a fileserver recovery. So, currently they are in, what we call redundant mode, which means that the registers are working on their own without communicating to the fileserver.

| Since you cant tell me any more than you have I would look in the servers 'services' and see if there are any not running that should be. Also while on the server try pinging (if using tcpip) the registers and gateway (if any) in case the nic driver didnt load. Keep in mind these are what I would with so little info.
