Since I've never done it before, I don't know exactely how to format my older notebook (Win98) and install the new 98's again. I don't need to save any data from the hard disk and I want to clean it completely. Does anyone have maybe some link to a page with detailed steps...? Thanks

No real need for a link. Just boot to the 98 floppy (or CD) and when you get to a command prompt type: format c: /s

After the format you'll reboot back to the installation disk and let Windows Install. Unless you want to first partition your HD, that's it.

Make sure you open device manager and write down all of your hardware.  Then go out and get the drivers for it and burn them to CD.  Since 98 is an older OS, it may not know what all of the hardware is.
