| i'd call them Collections
would that fit? at least it would not confuse with some scientific term.
if you want to show that they dynamically filter, find, etc the files, you can call them Auto(matic) Collections, because they automatically collect f.e. my word documents, or all the music of an artist, or or or...
but not VFolders or similar. users will not understand that. a lot don't even understand what a file is, or saving. they just know "i have to do this". thus, a simple word, that people knew before pc's existed, should be used.

| | I have heard some rumors that MS is going to tone down the "virtual folder" concepts in Vista. We will have to wait for the next CTP to see if that is true. I like virtual folder, but I wonder if they will add more confusion to some users. I can't imagine trying to explain them to somone such as my mom. She finally understands My documents.
