| What type and speed internet conenction you guys run at home (rather than at your place of work). Also how much do you pay for it, and what sort of bandwidth / traffic restrictions do you have?
My ADSL connection through Telecom New Zealand (bastards) costs me NZ$70 a month - about US$42. For that, I get a 256kb/s synchronous connection with a theoretical restriction to 10Gb traffic a month. After 10Gb, they throttle the connection back to modem speed (though they recently admitted they don't actually have the tools to do this!). There's no port blocking or hidden proxies in the way, and I can get a static IP address if I want - though I've had the same dynamic address for the past 4 months.
What abut you lot?

| 1.5/128 Covad DSL, no bandwith limits, allowed to run webserver, mail, and ftp and I do. Dynamic IP, but it usually stays the same for 2-3 weeks. Currently paying $49.99/month. I am looking into Cyberonic DSL at 6.0Mbps/768kbps for $59.99/month.
Write your questions down on the back of a $20 dollar bill and send them to me.

| 1Mb/s at the moment with NTLWorld, but they are soon to upgrade me to 1.5 for no extra cost
currently paying £35 per month but I think they have a restriction of 1gig per day.

| Comcast.net--consistantly get speeds over 1.5 Mbps. No bandwidth restrictions but we're not allowed to run web servers, mail servers, etc. They haven't bothered me with my Terminal Server, though. Cost is $42/month US.

| like elliot. were getting 3000 thanks to some increase, and it manages to pass even that to 3100+ , but the rated upload seems to choke around 220 most of the time instead of the 256.
it aquires a different ip at different times, although i could static it again i think.
huge 6x10m e-mails or 'personal" web site spaces no Quotas ever, on time or use, that i know of.
i think i pay like 50 if you include tax the rental i still pay on the box, and other stupid charges. i would probably be happy with 256 Up and DOWN, like getting asdl, if i could get it for 1/2 that price. because its not often that i do Massive downloading, and if i do, i can subtask it.
OK, so i am Guessing, but i try hard |
