(First post!)

Hi I just bought a 200gig hd to go in this pc (my 80 is running out) and now my girlfriend wants a piece of the action. With ample amounts of harddrive space she said she wants an account on this pc for when I'm at work. She said she wanted the use THIS pc, with her user + pass and only her have access to the 80gig and me to the 200gig. I thought Windows XP would have some sort of feature to do something like this so I went on searching. Alas, 2 hours later - still nothing.

Sorry for lack of description. It's kinda hard to explain but ANY sort of help at all will be greatly appreciated.
If it can't be done, I'll accept any alternative options too

Thanks for your time!

bex

I found out that it's not possible at all. Though I did find this:

Could anybody explain to me what I put in the "To:" box after "Connect Z:"?

Thanks in advance

All that profile tab will do is to allow you store the user profile on a network file server.

What you want to do is possible with NTFS security permissions.  Just remove your girlfriends user account and the groups that accounts belong to from the access control list on the D: drive.  She won't be able to use the drive.  If her account is and administrator account, though, she will be able to change the permissions.

*slaps forhead*

You guys are bloody champions!

I've suggested to the website I usually buy pc parts off to order some of those Trio II things. Few of my mates would love it but the USD>AUD exchange rate is a bit hefty on the pocket

Again thanks heaps for the info!
