| | hey fellow musicians... i'm thinking of attending the Musician's Institute out in California this fall, seems like a pretty awesome place, anybody here happen to know of the school? |

| I attended about 10 years ago along with two of my bandmates. You'll definitely come out of there a better musician, it's so much easier to learn when surrounded by other musicians. It's not for slackers though, it's an accelerated curriculum and they push you. They'll send you a pack of materials(at least they used to) prior to your enrollment to make sure you have certain basic skills, make sure you know that stuff forward and backwards.
I attended in Hollywood, not sure if there are other campuses now. I'm from Michigan and L.A. was not for me, major culture shock. I had a hard time finding a good job and reasonable housing so keep those things in mind. Good luck and practice, practice, practice. |

| hmm well thanks for taking the time to tell me your thoughts! i heard a bunch of big names have gone through and/or teach at the school too, like satriani taught there one semesters, does that happen often? |
