| I recently purchased a new laptop, which came with SP2, and my only complaint so far is that the icons on my task bar (not within the menu) are pixelated and slightly distorted. This includes minimized programs, quick launch, and system tray icons. While it doesn't inhibit the use of my system in any way, for someone as picky about having her computer "just so", it's driving me up a wall.
So far, there are only two things I can think that it may be, as I've fiddled with every setting imaginable:
1) SP2 is having issues. I've never had a PC with SP2 so I'm unsure if this is a proper assessment.
2) My monitor is a 17" wide aspect ratio laptop LCD which may distort things a bit.
When I set the icons to large, the Quick Launch bar for example, they look great- it's only when set as small do they appear fuzzy and pixelated. Desktop and menu icons look fine, it's only those that are in the taskbar at any given time. It doesn't appear to be a graphic car resolution problem as it's contained to that one area while all other graphics are crisp and clear.
Has anyone else had this issue? I would appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance. - Beturtlement |

| I have that same problem and I can tell you that it's neither. Those same icons have always been blurry here and I bought my laptop prior to the release of SP2 and I have a monitor size of 15.4. They also look pretty good here whenever I set their size on large. I've tried many things, one thing I did is delete the icon cache file hoping that when it regenerates itself the icons would be fixed but no luck.
