| It seems whenever I paya music, or even sounds, I get this error :
waveOutput v2.0.2a error
Unsupported PCM format (44100 Hz, 16 bits per sample, 2 channels). Please change format settings in input plug-in configuration or change output device in waveOut plug-in configuration.
Error Codew : 32
Windows Error Message : "The specified format is not supported and cannot be translated. Use the Capabilities function to see the supported" formats.
Help me, please! I tried using System Restore, but my sister turned it off and I can't restore to ANY previous time. Can any of you geniuses help?

| Try reinstalling the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

| OK, a couple of things right off the top:
1. Please describe your hardware configuration (on-board sound or separate soundcard/brand & model, motherboard brand & model, CPU and if not WinXP as an OS, then what) so that we can understand what we have to work with; and,
2. What did you do that may have 'started' this problem (software installations, driver updates, etc.) - in other words, can you pin down what may have caused the snag? (detective work)

| DE25,
Did you get your other issues regarding firewall and AV fixed? Maybe you have a larger challenge here and everthing could be related. Go to system information as well, and use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to test your sound. See if it gives any different errors.
If the other isn't fixed yet, please post a HT log at that other thread.
Thanks.
Cheers

| I tried testing it with dxdiag, heres what I got :
DirectSound test results: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x88780032 (error code)
Also, I haven't fixed the firewall or NAV problem either.

Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error Code : 88780032
I am using a sound card that came with my motherboard and dont know how to update my drivers, anyone got any ideas?

1.) Don't know my motherboard brand or model, as I get it around 3 years ago, using AMD Athlon Processor MMX 3DNow 755Mhz, and using WinXP Pro
2.) Dunno, the last LARGE thing I have did was probably installing K-Lite Codec pack (which was about 3 weeks ago, dunno why it would act up now), and uninstalling BlackICE (trying to atleast)
Oh, and how can I attatch a readme file with the Dxdiag log on it?
