| I started with NAV but got rid of it because it was WAY too bloated and it failed many tests that a friend ran on it. I then used GDATA which uses a dual engine (Kaspersky and BitDefender) for a year. I never felt so safe in all my life using that prog, but 30,000+k memory usage was too much for me. When my subscription ran out, I purchased a 1 year subscription for BitDefender which I really liked except for the 32,000k memory usage. I thus asked for a refund and purchased Dr.Web which, when properly configured, uses only about 6,000k memory. I now also have Safe'n'Sec which is a behavioral monitoring prog/application firewall which also comes with an on-demand virus scanner that uses the BitDefender engine. I'm quite content with my layered, light-weight setup...for the time being |

| I still agree with Richie.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal 5.0 is the best and that's why we both recommend it here. Proof is in the results. All you have to do is look in the Hijackthis forum to see how much more Kaspersky detects and removes than other AV products.

| I change up every so often. I've used Norton, Mcafee, AVG, Avast, Nod32, Panda, and many others. To say one is the best tho? They all have there bugs and irritations, just find what suits your needs and your pc set up and stick with that.
I'm using Avast currently.

| mnosteele (5/11/2005) KasperskyNothing else even comes close, I guarantee if you try it you will buy it. It's detect rate is unsurpassed and they have hourly updates..... that's right hourly. Kaspersky Labs technicians work around the clock to protect your computer. I often see people on other forums claiming that Kaspersky has a lot of false positives.
