Under view, I had to select tiles, then arrange by type, then show in groups. Auto arrange was automatically checked and shaded so I could not choose it. Now it's back to the way it was.

I hope this helps someone else.

John

RE: What happend to the view I had

I did try that. I've selected every item under the View heading but none of them return it to the previous layout. It's really strange that powering off like that caused that one thing to disappear.

I'm sure there is a way to get back to it, I just have to bump into someone who's been there before to help.

THanks for your input I appreciate it.

RE: What happend to the view I had

Hi John
Did you click view on the tool bar at the top of the window & click through the options ?

What happend to the view I had

Today I was trying to open a cd in the computer. For some reason, it didn't want to allow me to open it and I couldn't get it to stop spinning the cd and allow me to open the cd drive.

I tried to do end the task with the system manager and couldn't get to that either. So I was forced to power off my desktop, which I hate doing.

Well, it has screwed something up and I can't figure out how to get it back to normal. On a brand new computer with WMC software, if you open my computer, you see your hard drives at the top, then there is a line with the cd drives below it, then another line and other items below it. Basically it shows the different types of hardward in their own little sections. Well, I don't see that any more. I have all the icons together like I just opened a folder full of files.

The comptuer works fine, I just don't like the view I'm seeing. I want it back the way it was but I've tried everythign and can't find how to return it to that way. I've tried the view menu and all the options, but there must still be something else. Can anyone tell me how to get it back to the origional way it was.

Thanks,
John
