Not able to open new windows?

When I right click and hit "new window", nothing happens. When I right click and go to hit "save as", the option isn't in black letters and doesn't work.

I was told to go to some Miscrosoft site and follow what it says to fix this. I don't remember the site, but it didn't work.

What should I do?

Try emptying your temporary internet files first and see what happens. If no joy, please post back.

It didn't work :(

I also can't type here to reply. I have to do it on another computer. When I click where you type, nothing happens. And the computer that is working, me sister hogs.

Here are my problems:

1)When I click on some links they don't work.

2)Picture links don't work.

3)I don't think java things work either. It may just be becuase the links to get it started don't work.

4)It won't let me type here.

5)Right clicking and open new window doesn't work.

6)Right clicking and save as doesn't work.

Its wierd becuase I don't get an error. Nothing happens. What else can I do?

Set all IE settings to defaults and see if that helps, also follow my SPYWARE Removal thread in the Common Questions Forum.

Still no luck. I used to have just ad-ware but now I got the other remover also. It removed a pop up stopper that I had called startsurfing. I don't think that was the problem but I got rid of it anyway. It still didn't fix my problem though.

Is there any way I can just uninstall internet explorer then download it again and start fresh????

OK yanks, Lets try this.

First. Go to start > run > type: regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll enter Then repeat again for each of the following files (replacing Shdocvw.dll each time and hitting enter)

Msjava.dll

Actxprxy.dll

Oleaut32.dll

Mshtml.dll

Browseui.dll

Shell32.dll

If still no joy, go to:
http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, double-click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Did this just start happening (did it work okay up until recently)? If so, what did you do just before the problem started (tweaks, new software, new hardware, etc)?

Did you go to Internet Options - Advanced Tab and click on "Restore Defaults"?

I did what you said with the run thing, all said they were worked accept Actxprxy.dll. That said it was missing or something.

I didn't do the HijackThis.exe yet, but I will.

I started to get these problems once I reinstalled windows xp.

I also did the internet options thing, but it didn't help.

Should I still do the HijackThis.exe? Also, I probably won't be able to post again tonight becuase Im on a diff. computer. Mine, with the internet problems doesn't let me post here. When I click where you type, nothing happens.

reboot and try that file again, If no luck post back when you get a chance. Can you also search for that file and tell us where it shows up.

Rebooting didn't help. I searched my computer for the files and it doesn't seem to exist. Maby I am missing it, what should I do?

Make sure you are searching for hidden AND system files.

I did that too, but nothing still came up.
