DirectDbNotifyWndProc on shut down

I'm having problems with outlook express in that it only opens once or maybe twice then you have to restart the computer. I 'm running xp home. I was going to reinstall the os, I had a clean laptop so I backup the address book, dbx files, my documents and put them in the laptop now thats doing the same thing with outlook and shutting down. Any help??

Is it possible to use an application to get one computer to recognise the other as Network Attached Storage device when they are connected via Ethernet?
I am asking this because I want to transfer large files from one PC to another while accessing the net on both computers.
Both computers have an Ethernet card and a wifi card card.
They are both connected to my router via wifi.

This is just started happening to me whilst going to a favorite website and whilst reading the forum suddenly I get the message that Internet Explorer is not responding, it then states that it is trying to find the problem and then restarts IE. The trouble is that you have to start allover to go to the web site you were at. So I do that and start reading a particular subject and then IE crashes on me again. This has happened in other web sites and I am wondering should I do the repair of IE and lose all my saved information.

No doubt someone will advise that I try Firefox but I have been there and tried it and do not like it very much.

I recently refreshed my ip address because for some reason I kept disconnecting. It fixed it, but now certain electronic devices I have that use the wifi can't connect and are saying I need to refresh back to the default gateway of 192.168.2.1. Technically speaking I don't have a separate router connected to this computer, it was built into the back of the processor. Trouble is I don't remember what brand it was and I don't know how to change it back.

--I should also mention I cannot connect to http://192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1. Even with the firewall I have off.

Browser problems with WiFi.....

I have been asked by a friend to find out what's causing him to have a browser problem with his WiFi connection.

He can download E-Mails & update all his protection software no problem, but when he starts either Internet explorer 7 or Mozilla Firefox he cannot get a web page to come up ?

He is using:

Packard Bell (Easynote) Laptop

Running Windows XP

Belkin Router (ADSL2 Modem with Wireless G-Router)

Also running Norton Internet Security 2006

Other members of the family are having no problems with their Laptop Connections
to the same router.

Any ideas..

Slow dl speed

Hello again.
I'm having problem with slow downloading speed
Usually I am downloading at 100 kb/s
Now it's just hanging at 30 kb/s
I'm not downloading anything else, and as far as I know any antivirus/firewall is not dling any updates.
Any suggestions?

By the way, I use Firefox. Haven't tried downloading on IE

About 4 days ago I started having trouble connecting to certain sites. I either get a page not displayed message due to timing out, or it takes 2-5 mins to load a page. I first noticed this with login.yahoo.com. The log pages to Yahoo don't style or show images.. It's as if the images and Style sheets are stripped... and take 5 mins to even see any text. Yet I have no problem bringing up Yahoo.com.

I'm also having issues downloading some things. (For example I cannot download from java.com.. it turns into a cannot display web page) Many of the cleaning software from my other thread had multiple attempts and alternate sites to get them onto my machine. I also noticed that my AVG is not updating.. it can't seem to connect to the internet. Don't know if this is related or not.

I've contact my Cable company and they show no issues and there are many pages I am [b]not [/b]having this issue with..But darn, this is slower than the days of dial up!!

Java Script/ Flash/ Runtime Error

Dear Support Team,

I have two main problems:

1. When I use websites which require Java Script to be turned on and for me to have the latest version of Flash, such as Youtube, I am getting messages saying that Java script is turned off or I don't have the latest version of Flash. I have then checked to make sure that Java Script is on and I also have the latest version of Flash, yet it still carries on giving me these messages. This problem only occurs in Internet explorer and BitComet Resource Browser (which i think is an IE based browser). I also use Safari (XP build) and that works fine.

2. Whilst IE 7 or Bitcomet Resource Browser is open, I sometimes get these "Runetime Error" messages. I also have a program provided by Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, called "4OD" (4 on demand). It works by opening a window which is basically Internet Explorer but without the Menu options and adress bar at the top. When I am using 4OD I always recieve multiple "Runtime Error" messages and they come whilst the page is loading (not being displayed properly), and when it is loaded the messages appear everytime I roll over a hyper link or click certain links/boxes. A typical Runtime Error is:

"A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug?

Line: 1

Error: Invalid character

'Yes' 'No'"

I can't think of any other information that I can provide you with, so hopefully this will give you enough of an idea. Many thanks in advance :)

Wireless Internet Connection

Hi, first post so be gentle with me!

My PC was bricked so had to reload XP Pro. Obviously all my software etc. was lost.

Just started loading everying back on.

This PC is a secondary one and is connected to the internet via a wireless adapter.

I've reloded the software & adapter (Netgear RangeMax WPN111) which appear to be working fine. The adaper has found and is connected to the wireless transmiter (SMC Barricade) but I cannot connect to the internet.

I think that all the settings were on (automatically detect) as they are now.

I also have a laptop connected to the wireless router and this works fine.

Any help/suggestions would be most appreciated.

Not able to ping before Ctrl+Alt+Del

Computer DELL GX520

Not able to ping from other machine when Ctrl+Alt+Del screen appears.

After logging in Im able to ping...installed all latest drivers reinstalled OS, nothing is happening.

Please somebody help..all hardware part is ok..I swapped the HDD and checked its working but by using the same HDD its not working..

Ok so I am on a posting roll. I was wondering what this really is and if it is still as bad as it used to be. It seems that a lot was made of this about 3-6 years ago but not a lot now. It looks like this is something on both pcs and routers. So do I have to disable it on both or just one? If I do have it disabled what will happen?
