I installed it on my laptop as soon as it came out and I havn't had the first problem with it. The only annoying thing is the security check balloons,lol. No probs here and I installed it on a laptop running Win XP Pro with XP Athlon 1800+ 533mhz with only 256mb RAM.

SP2 is great, although it might make ur computer less functional, u'll be more secure. the extra firewall, the ie pop-up blocker, the script settings changing to where u're safer and less vulnerable to malware. it's worth downloading.

What I have done is simply slipstream SP2 into my Windows disc. I managed to find a very useful and easy tool for it aswell, Autostreamer:

To me it seems like a better idea to install SP2 and XP at the same time, I would definately be hesitant to apply SP2 to a Windows install that has been used for a while with installed drivers, apps etc.
I have found no problems with SP2, and my computer purrs like a kitten, or something... :)

I went to XP pro after a major Hard Drive Melt down, Personally I like the idea of Win2k Better, maybe because I am more familar with it. Everybody has said that if they had a problem then all one has to do is fix it and move on, this has been true for me too, but the problems were nowhere near as frequent or troublesome as XP Pro. The wizards are good. Had to System restorev after Losing ALL mail upon appling SP2 though beware of that one if upgrading...lol :-)

SP2 has completely slowed down my computer. In my opinion it has too many kinks that should have been worked out before hand. My computer became so slow that I couldn't even remove sp2 it took so long! I had to use my XP cd to restore my previous configuration. I do NOT recommend it and condemn microsoft for such a fallacy of an upgrade!

I've always had SP1, everything ran smoothly. Soon as I installed SP2 there was a difference in speed. I have a Pentium IV 2.53GHz w/512MB RAM (fixing to get 1.0GB next week :D )

Therefore, with Norton Internet Security and just SP1 all has been well for 2 years and running.

Well if I lived where the Coriolis Effect was backwards, I'd think APC was a damn good computer magazine too! However since we are on the www if you go to http://www.apc.com/products/ you'll see something that maybe you didn't know about.

Obviously people without SP2 love the famous Blue Screen Of Death! I'd rather have the errors hidden than have to reboot every day of my life. SP2 was rated 4 out of 5 in APC magazine September 2004. They said it was the best update from Microsoft yet!
