You mentioned earlier that you also purchased Nero 6 OEM from surpluscomputer.

Did that version include Burning ROM?

If it did, I will talk to them to see if they can still get me that version.

My Nero is the Ultra Edition [OEM, came with a drive] and has Nero Burning ROM and Nero Express. The Burning ROM is version 6.6.0.3. The first screen is Nero StartSmart.

Nero 6 does not have Nero Burning Rom included,it's Nero Express,a watered down version of Nero Burning Rom.

It is Nero version 6. OEM 3 is just the version of the OEM release.

Does yours show Burning ROM in the StartSmart dropdown list?

I think Nero OEM 3 is too old to have DVD support.

I purchased Nero OEM 3 from surpluscomputers, but in StartSmart it does not show Burning ROM. Does your version show it there?

I've purchased a number of the OEM version of Nero 6 and all have had Nero Burning ROM, Nero Express, Nero BackItUp and SoundTrax as part of the Nero StartSmart.

Perhaps, but usually the absence of something says nothing.
As in this case.

Nero 5.5 does burn to DVD's, I've used it for that. But it has problems displaying the capacity of the disc correctly.

I already bought an OEM version of Nero 6, but it did not include Nero Burning ROM which is the module that I want. I've even found that some OEM versions that are advertised as Burning ROM are really only Nero Express. Not sure about the ones you referenced, I will look into it.

Nero 5.5 is relatively old. Nero 6 works good with DVD MultiFormat burners.

My DVD burner came with Roxio, but Nero has some features I prefer. When I attempt to use Nero 5.5 with a DVD-R, it only shows a capacity (in the scale at the bottom of the window) of up to 1000 MB or so. Is there any way to make Nero 5.5 more DVD friendly?
