I send them to a folder named /documents/undelete. I even saved them to a flash drive. The problem is viewing a simple text document that I am trying to recover. It opens the document but it is either scambled in code or it simply won't open. I also tried Recuva uninstall progam - same thing.

Attached is what comes up when I try to open the file.

I have about 8 doc. files and 5 of them will open. The one I need WON'T :cry

Is it just that this particular file cannot be recovered or should I keep trying more programs?

RE: Data recovery

Ultimate Data Recovery by MISPBO Technologies [WIN 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP]
http://www.mispbo.com/
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Ultimate_Data_Recovery_d5336.html

FreeUndelete [WIN 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP]
http://www.officerecovery.com/freeundelete/index.htm
http://www.majorgeeks.com/FreeUndelete_d4407.html

PC INSPECTOR File Recovery
http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/UK/welcome.htm

NTFS Undelete [WIN 2000/XP/2003/Vista]
http://www.ntfsundelete.com/
http://www.majorgeeks.com/NTFS_Undelete_d5532.html

Recuva File Recovery [WIN 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP]
http://www.recuva.com/
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Recuva_-_File_Recovery_d5514.html

Undelete Plus [WIN 9x/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003]
http://www.undelete-plus.com/

UndeleteMyFiles [WIN 2000/XP/2003/Vista]
http://www.majorgeeks.com/UndeleteMyFiles_d5904.html

RE: Data recovery

great thanks!

RE: Data recovery

[url]http://www.techsupportalert.com/search/node/data+recovery[/url]

Here's a list of freeware data recovery applications.
