It is not needed in HE as HE is not intended to connect to a Server-based Network.

Ahhh - the QOS packet bandwidth myth. This is an old wive's tale and you should avoid any site that thinks it's real. It's been known for at least 5 years that the QOS packed bandwidth story is nonsense.

OK so alot of people say the Divx movies are SOOOO SLOW TO LOAD!!!!
Well, yes they are and we are sorry but we are not a File Hosting site. What we do here is link you to content already present on the web.
That being said, buffer times are slow we know. This is due to the Host server speeds. We cannot speed this up no matter how much we want to.

There are a few things you can do as a User to help yourself out
1) Don't expect the movie to buffer instantly!!
2) Make sure that you empty your Cache in the DivX Tools tab on the
player
3) Windows reserves 20% your bandwidth for itself (very selfish of them )
To correct this you need to click HERE.
4)The Stream Movie link is dead.
To correct this you need to click HERE.
5)No Sound!!!
To Correct this you need to click HERE.
The quality of a DivX movie doesn't compare to any other video format .

Claim back you Bandwidth (Microsoft Vista Ultimate, Vista, XP) Fix
This doesn't work with BROADBAND!!(DSL)

Bandwidth Tweak for Windows XP:

Windows uses 20% of your Bandwidth(Microsoft reserves this for their own purposes).

How to get it back:
> Click Start > Run > type "gpedit.msc"
> Then go to:
> LOCAL COMPUTER POLICY>
> COMPUTER CONFIGURATION>
> ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES>
> NETWORK>
> QOS PACKET SCHEDULER>
> LIMIT RESERVABLE BANDWIDTH.

Double click on LIMIT RESERVABLE BANDWIDTH

> Enable reservable bandwidth
> Then set it to ZERO

ANYWAY... Maybe it just happens to his computer... lol. I dunno, I just know that it takes 5 hours to download a 700MB movie.

Windows does not reserve any bandwidth. Not in any version. Period.

That link takes me to the front page of a forum, not to any information. Please cut and paste (or just paraphrase) the misinformation you are referring to.

I read from a couple of forums that windows reserves 20% of bandwidth. Specifically from; http://www.diflix.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=72. Maybe this only applies to Win Pro or Vista?

Is there a way to get more speed without adding a program.

You're trying to free up what 20% bandwidth that Windows hogs?????
GPEDIT is available only in XP Pro - I assume you're running Home?

I have Windows XP and I'm trying to free up that 20% bandwith that windows hogs up. I type in gpedit.msc (also just gpedit) from my start menu and it doesn't work. I can get a DOS edit box just by typing edit. Any suggestions?
