Got the Error 1083 after using the fix.bat. Ran across this page. http://windowsxp.mvps.org/rebuildhelp.htm
Using the same procedure as the fix.bat I made a help.bat of the following.

net stop helpsvc
cd /d %windir%\pchealth\helpctr
rd packagestore /s /q
rd installedskus /s /q
cd binaries
start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install
start /w helpsvc /register

Copied and pasted into notepad and named it help.bat. Ran it from the desktop and wahlaa! Help and Support is BACK. I had about given up when I made the help.bat. This was the last thing I did before getting the Help and Support back so I'm assuming this did the trick.:hehe:
Slowly, gluing hair back on head after pulling most of it out.:crazy:
I can only hope this helps somebody else.

RE: Help and Support service missing

thanks richie i have tried all that you said except for the XP CD thing cause can't find my CD :crying:and even visited the site but still no luck thanks anyway but if there's any other suggestion keep me posted thanks again

RE: Help and Support service missing

<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt;
