| | have installed service pack 2 on my computer evrything working fine except cannot access the new windows firewall when i try it just says due t an unidentified problem windows cannot display firewall settings can any help to rectify this problem |

| | This has been a problem with SP2 that hasn't been fixed yet. I suggest you wait a couple month and download the final version instead of messing with the beta. |

| | I have SP2 RC1 and I have no problem accessing the firewall. Do you have any other firewalls running? I don't know if that would make any difference but I don't. I can access it either through the control panel icon or the IE tools-connection-network settings. |

| As was explained above, it is a known problem for which there is no fix at the moment. Not everybody experiences the problem patrickt - you are apprently one of those who does not.

"I'm sorry to reply to my own post but after trying the START|RUN|regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\hnetcfg.dll fix several times it finally worked. I can now access and control the XP firewall. Thanks again "rt"."
This seems to have worked for a couple of people.

| Not for me, I reinstalled the Sygate Firewall.
